Differences Between HPL and UV Processes (Key Technical Comparison)
There are currently two mainstream surface processes in the automotive floor industry, with very obvious gaps:
- HPL high-temperature lamination process: Surface wear resistance 8000-15000 rotations, wear rate of about 5-8% after 5 years of use; color stable, fading rate < 3%; high environmental grade, formaldehyde release < 0.01mg/m³

1. First Understand: What Material Is the Trumpchi E9's Floor?
The Trumpchi E9 is a PHEV plug-in hybrid model, and the original floor covering has 2 versions:
- Low-end version: PVC faux leather material (no modification needed)
- High-end version / Modified version: HPL high-temperature lamination material (user-modified solution)
The two materials respond completely differently to heat:

- Aluminum base layer (500 -wire aluminum plate): heat resistance 300℃
- PE core material: heat resistance 70-80℃ (softening point)
- Bottom aluminum plate: heat resistance 300℃
The PE core material is the "thermal bottleneck" of the entire structure:
- PE begins to soften at 70℃
- 90℃ obvious deformation
- 110℃ melting
- 140℃ combustion
Although the surface temperature of hand warmers is only 50-60℃, after 8-12 hours of continuous heat supply, heat will conduct down to the PE core material.

- There must be no insulation layer between hand warmers and floor (blankets, thick towels etc. will accumulate heat)
3. Is It Safe to Put Electric Blankets on the Floor?
Electric blankets are another common heat source. Use scenarios for Trumpchi E9 electric blankets:
- Second-row passengers sitting for long periods (airport transfers, business reception)
- Northern winter temperatures of 20-30℃, even with heating on, the cabin takes 10-15 minutes to warm up
Electric blankets typically have power of 50-100W, and surface temperature can reach 60-70℃. Higher than hand warmers.
I tested placing an electric blanket on HPL floor for 8 hours:

Conclusion: Electric blankets directly contacting the floor pose risks (PE core material temperature approaching softening point); with a thin towel underneath risks are greatly reduced; thick blanket insulation is safest but sacrifices the electric blanket's heating effect.

Convert the above test conclusions into owner judgment standards:
Judgment 1: Hand warmers on the floor
- Single hand warmer + within 4 hours: safe
- Multiple stacked (≥3 pieces) + 8 hours: risky, recommend changing position every 4 hours
- Hand warmer + insulation layer (blanket, towel): safe, but hand warmer heating effect will drop 30-50%
Judgment 2: Electric blankets on the floor
- Electric blanket directly contacting floor: risky (PE core material may soften)

Solution 1: Use heated steering wheel + seat heating
