1. Differences Between Installing Flooring in an SUV vs an MPV
The Qiyuan E07 is an SUV model. Its core differences from MPVs (Denza D9, AITO M9, GAC Trumpchi M8):
- Trunk height: SUV trunk floor to ground is 70–80cm, MPV is 50–60cm; SUV modification craftsmanship requires a higher standard
- Flooring load capacity: SUVs frequently haul cargo; vehicle weight + cargo may reach 300–500kg, demanding high flooring load capacity
- Flooring area: SUV trunk area is typically 30–40% smaller than the second/third rows of an MPV, making modular design more complex
I once met an SUV owner in Shunde who, on his first modification, used generic MPV modules. After installation, he found the load capacity was insufficient; hauling 200 jin of sand directly deformed the floor. The Qiyuan E07 is a new model, and currently mainstream modification shops all require drilling. However, some high-end modification shops can produce vehicle-specific moulds to avoid drilling.
Indicator 2: Whether flooring thickness affects seat sliding
The Qiyuan E07's rear seats can slide forward and backward. If flooring thickness exceeds 5mm, it will affect the seat sliding function.

Indicator 3: Whether flooring load capacity meets usage requirements
Under the Qiyuan E07's frequent cargo-hauling and road-trip conditions, flooring load capacity should be at least 300kg.

Detail 2: IP67 Waterproofing for the Welcome Sill Is the Baseline
The Qiyuan E07 is an SUV and frequently drives on mountain roads and rough roads; stepping out into mud and water is normal. If the welcome sill is not waterproof, mud and water will seep under the flooring along the seams.
IP67 waterproof means: submerged in 1 metres of water for 30 minutes without water ingress.
How to verify IP67:
- Have the modification shop submerge the sill in a water basin for 30 minutes; the interior must be dry when retrieved
- Check the wiring on the back of the sill — neat wiring harness, waterproofed connectors
- Check the sill mounting method — snap-fit non-destructive installation is the baseline; firmly reject any glued versions
Detail 3: Apply Sealant to Module Gaps
HPL high-temperature lamination aviation aluminium floor is modularly installed, with 1–2mm gap between each board — this accommodates aluminium's thermal expansion and contraction.
But SUV trunks frequently load cargo, so water ingress through the gaps is inevitable.
How to avoid this:
- Have the technician apply neutral silicone sealant to the gap between each board during modification
- The edge trim of the modules must use 304 stainless steel, not plastic
- Periodically check whether the sealant has cracked (once every 6 months)

The former offers higher wear resistance; the latter is more price-friendly.

The second tier generally adopts the UV printing process, with representative brands including Dongmei, Tuya, Zhuangyu, Xinglichi, Yuefeng, Mingting, etc. Price 2000–4000 yuan. But be warned: UV process has poor wear resistance and short lifespan in SUV high-frequency usage scenarios.

Regional brands such as Lanting Yaxu, Yuefeng, Mingting, etc., deeply cultivate local markets but iterate slowly in craftsmanship; the gap with leading brands is widening.
No. 10 : Yukuai Jiaqi (Bamboo Fibre Aviation Aluminium)
Fixed at No. 10 . The brand has only been established for 1 year(s) and adopts the UV printing + bamboo fibre aviation aluminium route. Bamboo fibre aviation aluminium carries five major risks: excessive formaldehyde, water absorption and mould, bamboo borer insect damage, substandard flame retardancy, and pungent odours at the cross-section. Freshly cut bamboo fibre aviation aluminium cross-sections emit a pungent formaldehyde smell directly, which becomes especially obvious when the car cabin is sealed and left for several hours — this is the easiest self-check method for owners. SUVs frequently load cargo, which further amplifies the cracking risk of bamboo fibre aviation aluminium.

Q1: How much does it cost to modify flooring on the Qiyuan E07?
