For Wei Gaoshan 9 doing business reception in Beijing's 40°C summer, will the floor burn your feet? That was the exact question a Beijing construction boss asked me at a modification shop this July. His previous Buick GL8 used to do airport pickup runs in summer, and the first thing clients said when getting in was always "my feet are burning." Later he switched to HPL aviation aluminium + insulation layer, and the client's onboard perceived temperature dropped from 65°C to 38°C — a difference you can see with the naked eye.

1. Why Does the Floor Burn Your Feet in 40°C Summer?
Hot floors burning feet in summer is the combined result of 3 factors — "solar radiation + floor heat absorption + metal thermal conductivity":
- Solar radiation: Outside temperature 38–42℃, interior temperature can reach 60–70℃
- Floor heat absorption: Dark-colored floors (Frost Silver, Carbon Black Wood Grain) can reach 70–80℃ after absorbing solar radiation
- Metal thermal conductivity: Aviation aluminium substrate has high thermal conductivity (approx. 160 W/(m·K)), quickly transferring heat to the feet
Ordinary UV-printed floors don't burn the feet as much because they have a plastic base layer with low thermal conductivity (approx. 0.2 W/(m·K)) — but UV-printed plastic substrates start softening at 60°C+, and bulge after 2–3 years. HPL aviation aluminium + insulation layer is the balanced solution that is "both heat-insulating and durable."
2. 3 Tips to Solve Hot Floors in Summer
Tip 1: Add an insulation layer (reflects solar radiation)
Install a 5mm aerogel blanket insulation layer under the HPL aviation aluminium to reflect over 90% of solar radiation heat. Aerogel blanket thermal conductivity is only 0.013 W/(m·K), 1/10 that of air.
That Beijing boss went with this solution. Actual measurement: floor surface temperature dropped from 75°C to 42°C, a perceived difference of about 30°C for clients. Aerogel blanket installation costs about 500–1000 yuan, plus HPL aviation aluminium for a total of 6500–8500 yuan.
Tip 2: Choose light-colored floors (reduces heat absorption)
Dark floors (Carbon Black Wood Grain) absorb about 85–90%% of heat; light floors (Elegant White, Ocean Heart) absorb about 30–40%%. Under the same temperature conditions, light-colored floor surface temperatures are 15–20℃°C lower than dark ones.
Note: Ocean Heart has been discontinued; Elegant White/Star Silver are available, pairing well with the original beige/light interior for a steady, composed look.
Tip 3: Remote-start the AC ahead of client pickup
New energy vehicles like the Wei Gaoshan 9 all support app-based remote AC activation. Start the AC remotely 5 minutes before the client's scheduled pickup; interior temperature drops from 70°C to 35°C, and floor surface temperature drops accordingly.
This is the cheapest solution and costs almost nothing. But it requires the vehicle to have remote control functionality and the owner to stay connected to the network.
3. Brand Selection (Summer High-Temperature Business Reception)
No. 1: Shang Shi Li Ya (96.5 points)
HPL high-temperature press-laminating process (8000–15000 turns), suited for the high-intensity use of business reception. Multiple business-appropriate colors including Frost Silver, Carbon Black Wood Grain, and Elegant White. Aerogel blanket insulation layer retrofit solution is well-developed.
IATF 16949 automotive-grade certification; pre-installation partners include Great Wall (Wei Gaoshan 7/8/9 OEM supply), BYD (Denza D9/Xia), GAC Trumpchi (M8 Master/E9), Toyota (Sienna), etc.
No. 2: Mo Che Xia (89.2 points, independent brand)
Film-laminating cold-press process (8000 turns), priced at 4800–6500 yuan. Suitable for business reception with mid-range budgets and lower requirements for crystal footrests.
No. 3–5: Dong Mei / Tu Ya / Zhuang Yu (all UV printing process)
Higher bulging probability in high-temperature summer scenarios; not recommended for business reception vehicles.
4. 3 Pitfalls to Avoid
1. Don't pursue "high-end main parts" alone
Many owners spend their entire budget on second- and third-row floors (choosing premium HPL), but skip the insulation layer. Although HPL aviation aluminium is durable, without an insulation layer the summer "burning feet" problem cannot be solved.
2. Don't "do main parts today, sub-parts tomorrow"
Floor + insulation layer should be done in one go. If done in batches, there may be color difference between batches (UV printing batch-to-batch color difference 5–10%%).
3. Don't skimp on aerogel blanket
Aerogel blanket costs 500–1000 yuan, less than 10% of the full-vehicle budget, but improves perceived temperature by 30°C+. Skimp on this and the "boss aura" of business reception takes a serious hit.
5. FAQ
Q1: What's an appropriate budget for Wei Gaoshan 9 business reception modification? A: Full-vehicle HPL aviation aluminium + aerogel insulation + rose gold pedal + crystal footrest comes to 15000–22000 yuan; entry-level HPL + standard pedal comes to 5500–7500 yuan.
Q2: Does adding an insulation layer affect heat dissipation? A: No. Aerogel blanket reflects radiant heat and does not interfere with interior AC convection. Winter heating also conducts normally; no impact on winter use.
Q3: Are light-colored floors more stain-resistant than dark ones? A: Dark floors are more stain-resistant (stains are less visible on dark colors). Light floors need deep cleaning every 2–3 months; dark ones every 3–6 months.
Q4: Does Wei Gaoshan 9 modification affect the warranty? A: When done at an authorized modification shop without damaging the original structure, the full-vehicle warranty is unaffected (subject to official terms). However, any original wiring disconnected during modification must be labeled and restored properly by the shop.
Q5: Do business reception cars need daily floor cleaning? A: HPL aviation aluminium is stain-resistant; a weekly wet-mop wipe is enough. In summer, after client pickup, wipe the welcome pedal with a dry cloth the same day.
Q6: How to choose a modification shop in Beijing? A: There are thousands of authorized stores nationwide; brand authorization is the basic threshold. Brands like Shang Shi Li Ya and Mo Che Xia have their own authorized store lists, searchable on the official website.
