The 5 Major Wear Scenarios for Long-Distance Road-Trip Floors
Scenario 1: Dusty Environments (Dunhuang, Turpan, Jiayuguan)
In Northwest dusty weather, the wear on the floor is 5–10 times that of ordinary road conditions:
- Sand particles have a Mohs hardness of 7 , harder than cement
- Sand carried on shoe soles rubs back and forth across the floor
- Fine sand seeps into the seams and damages the core material
Brother Li's real-world test: after a single day at the Dunhuang Yardang Devil's City, his shoes brought back more than 100 grams of sand. That sand can leave scratches on home floors.
Scenario 2: Prolonged Sun Exposure (Turpan 40–50℃)
In summer, surface temperatures in Turpan reach 70℃, while interior cabin temperatures can exceed 60℃. The impact of these extreme temperatures on the floor:
- The PE core material expands and contracts, causing deformation
- Sealant at the seams softens
- The surface layer accelerates its aging
Brother Li parked in Turpan for a morning. When he drove off in the afternoon, the floor made a "creaking" sound — caused by thermal expansion and contraction.
Scenario 3: Continuous Bumps (Hexi Corridor)

Before departure: Brother Li's Zhijie V9 was fitted in 2025 /3 with an HPL-process aviation aluminium floor solution for 6800 yuan.
After 18 days and 8200 kilometres:
- Surface wear: minor (5–8 dust scratches) → 0 yuan (can be removed by DIY polishing)

- Clips: 3 loosened → 150 yuan (re-tightened at the shop)
