1. Prerequisite 1: Floor evenness — gaps should not accommodate a finger

Bed-car camping's core is the 'bed' — comfort when lying on the floor depends on flatness. The Voyah Dreamer comes with plastic carpet from the factory, with a 12mm height difference at the 2nd and 3rd row junction; after installing aviation aluminium flooring, it can theoretically be made flat, but in practice many shops can't achieve it.

The key to flatness lies in checking 3 positions:

Position 1: Second and third row seamIf the second- and third-row seats are folded down and the floor has a height difference, lying on it will make your lower back feel a bump. During modification, have the technician chamfer the aluminum plate seams, keeping it within 0.5mm.

Location 2: Seams between welcome boards and floorWhen bed-vehicle camping, people move around inside the vehicle. If there's a gap larger than 1mm at the seam between the welcome board and floor, walking barefoot will cause "pinched toes." Bed-vehicle camping involves supine, lateral, and prone sleeping positions. If the floor surface friction coefficient is below 0.4, turning over in sleep will produce a "sliding sensation" — especially when wearing pajamas or going barefoot.

The aviation aluminium floor (HPL pressing process) has a surface friction coefficient of 0.55-0.65, providing sufficient friction for pajamas and preventing sliding when turning over.

The UV printing process has a surface friction coefficient of 0.4-0.5, resulting in a slight sliding sensation when turning over.

Bamboo fiber aviation aluminium floor appears to have a high surface friction coefficient (natural fiber is rough), but the bamboo fiber surface is prone to fuzzing—after 3 to 6 months, fibers become exposed and skin contact causes a prickling sensation, making it unsuitable for overland camping.

3. Prerequisite 3: Sound insulation and noise reduction—unaffected by road noise during overnight camping

Overland camping often involves parking on roadsides, in parking lots, or scenic areas. Tire noise and engine sounds from vehicles passing at night directly affect sleep quality.

The original floor of the Voyah Dreamer attenuates mid-to-high frequencies above 1000Hz but has limited effectiveness on low-frequency road noise at 80 to 200 Hz. When modified with aviation aluminium floor using HPL pressing technology, measured sound insulation and noise reduction is 14 to 18 dB—tire noise from vehicles passing at night can be reduced by over 70%.
